BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior forward Lydia Schrott
picked up another honor to add to her growing list of accolades this
season. For her second-career hat trick against North Carolina in the
Hoosiers’ first round win of the NCAA Tournament, Schrott was named
womensfieldhockey.com’s Player of the Week.
Schrott, who led the team in scoring this year with 41 points
from 17 goals and three assists, is the second Hoosier to earn this
distinction. Sophomore goalkeeper Haley Exner was named Player of the Week by the website on Oct. 17 for her career-high 16 saves against then-No. 9 Ohio State.
The Quarryville, Pa., product also picked up first team
All-Region and All-Big Ten for this year’s campaign. Schrott is the
program’s career goals (29), assists (17) and points (75) leader. For
the second consecutive year, Schrott is atop the single-season goals
(17) and points (41) ledger.
